It’s CMJ week here in New York. Which means, aside from stepping over drunk guys in skinny jeans with retarded hair cuts on our way to work this morning, our inboxes are being inundated with the very “latest” in music that appeals to drunk guys in skinny jeans with retarded haircuts. This video is from Brazilian MC EDU K who supposedly likes ‘gatas.’ (Mmm hmmm, honey, that tiara tells another tale.) This follow up to his club hit from last year, “SexOMatic” is called–what else?–“Gatas, Gatas, Gatas,” and it’s Directed by Bryan Barber, he of the “Hey Ya” video fame. And while EDU K manages to rap a good game about his obsession with the kitty, its his obsession with playing dress up that leaves us doubtful. Also, when will those Brasileiros learn their appeal is in inverse proportion to the amount of clothes they’re wearing?
