Ford Syncs Our Hearts With Misleading Promotional Gimmick Involving A Statuesque Juanes
29 October 2007, 3:50 PM. By Alex Alvarez
Colombian pop star Juanes took a break from staring sultrily while wearing a black t-shirt and posing for statues to promote “Sync,” a gadget created by Ford Motor Co. that allows you to control your cell phone an MP3 player from your car using voice commands. Because Latinos listen to Juanes. Always.
That’s real neat and all, but when we first read this article, we thought that the voice controlling our cars and would be the same one that narrates our dreams. Alas, Juanes’ voice is only used in commercials and promotions, but we can still imagine what sort of things Juanes might command us to do:
- “I pray to God that you pick up your cell phone. My beloved.“
- “My shirt, it reflects the black pit of my heart when I discovered that your ring tone was Calle 13.”
- “I am nothing without your love. Likewise, you are nothing without an MP3 of “Fotografias,” featuring Nelly Furtado. Might I suggest iTunes?”
Those are but a few choice snippets from the soundtrack to our fantasies. But surely all you lovely, Adonis-like readers could come up with a few more…
