The bizarre life journey of Steven Patrick Morrissey from Manchester, England comes full circle in this video clip of him dancing on stage with an adorable Hispanic child. According to the YouTube poster’s description:
A young boy called Morrissey dances with Moz on stage at the Fillmore 28th Sep 07 show.

Now I’ve seen it all.

I love it! Hilarious! Hell, it’s better than all those parents who named their kids Britney & Jessica & Justin.

Mildly tacky, but earnest. Ain’t no shame in naming your kid after someone you love.
I’m with loubatie: the poor kid could’ve gotten worse. At least he’s not going to be named ‘Yurel’ as many kids eighteen years from now will likely be dubbed in Mexico.
Somehow, a grand-uncle of mine received the name ‘Gautama Siddhartha el Buda Fonseca’. I spat mango juice from my nose when my estranged aunt first told me about it. Now, I just think it’s ballsy and dope.

well, you think thats bad…. ask my cousin Elvis how he feels about his name… he’d take Morrisey in a heartbeat…

I know a Marlon, Elvis, Bogart, and they’re all Mexican and have no artistic talent whatsoever. But it sure beats being named after a santo on the calendar, some of those names are really f_ed up. No disrespect to those named by a calendar.

one of my stepbrothers named his kid Chase and another one just named his daughter (deep breath, roll of eyes) Frankiebella Estrella.
i told my dad that i’d be happy to pitch in for the stripper pole.

This kid has his moves down: the tilted head, the fey, bent-wristed wave. There’s a chance that he’ll be to the Mozzer what El Vez is to, well, you get the point.
Let’s just hope against hope that the chamaco doesn’t take himself too seriously and just sing Mozzer covers straight. It would be a waste of a child.

A rockabilly dude (a perpetual style for Chicanos in LA) from the neighborhood, gave his kids 50s inspired names: Elvis, Maybelline and Johnny. Poor daddy cool was disappointed when his kids started listening to narco-corridos and dressing like cholos. Everyone’s a rebel!
