Under the radar, on top of your world: people you should know about.

Fans of norteñas have long been fans of Bobby Pulido, the Tejano music performer who broke our hearts again this morning when we listened to one of his songs for the upteenth time. If you haven’t heard Pulido’s sweet, heart-pulverizing tunes, shame on you. But just to play it safe, things you should know about the cowboy-hatted crooner:
- His father Roberto Pulido Sr., also an accomplished singer, took Junior to his concerts at an early age where he developed a love for the norteña sound.
- In 1996, with the release of his first album commemorating Mexican Independence, Bobby became a huge star around northern Mexico and the southwestern United States.
- Pulido’s most popular song “Desvelado”, (”Sleepless”), is an homage to the late queen of Tejano music, Selena.
- Pulido has collaborated with such singers as Juan Gabriel, the Frijoles Romanticos and others.
- Bobby has his own clothing line, Bobby Pulido Colección Vaquera, (there’s this incredible snake cowboy hat that we are saving our pesos for) which is available in Mexico and soon to be released in the United States.
There you have it. Don’t you feel much better now that you know who Bobby Pulido is? Check out the music video for “Desvelado” –an oldie, but such a goodie. (This is one is for you, baby!)

Did my post influence this post?
Why do I comment so much? I’m a bored college student who does whatever possible not to do his work, that’s why.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
he has the best package EVER!!!!
@Joe: where did you get that info. Share source please.
Bobby is all kinds of hot. If he’s all sleepless, I have something very special for him in my pocket. And it ain’t melatonin.
he’s cool. desvelado was written by a composer who had an admiration for selena, way before she died of course. “escucho cada dia la radio, seguro que la vuelvo a oir, en el cielo busco mi estrella…” its not an homage, its actually a song for an impossible love…
Could someone please grab a hose (and I don’t mean for the water) and put Bosrican out of his misery?
When he was rockin’ the high school mariachi scene, he came to my elementary school for the sole purpose of making all of the 5th grade laydeez swoon. We forgot about Joe/Donnie/Danny/Jordan/Jonathan and only had eyes for the sexy singer in the ill-fitting mariachi hand-me-down.
Soooooooooo hot.
Random fact: He goes on lots of safaris.
