Making Menudo: JG Makes Us LOL! Through Our Tears
30 October 2007, 9:00 AM. By Alex Alvarez
Last Thursday was the premiere of “Making Menudo” and we missed it because, frankly, there’s only so much barely pubescent boy love we can take in one evening. But we’ve since checked it out and have a few thoughts to share with all of you. First of all: Fedoras. No one looks good in them. Second: Manager Johnny Wright is a tool. Third: Discussions of Monti’s tightness makes us a little uncomfortable… ly hot.
The real star of this episode, though, was JG. Although he thought his group had an “amazing” performance, it wasn’t so fantastic that it warranted JG sticking around for another round of fedora-and-vest-adorned madness. Sad! His tear-choked realization that he “just isn’t good enough, I guess” made us want to hug him, and then slap him and then give him another hug.
Johnny might want his boy banders in training to take the “me” out of Menudo but, for the love of all that is holy and choreographed, put the JG back in! He may not have the talent or the “smoothness,” but he’s got the hat and the vest, and he didn’t push his fellow group members like that tight but pitchy Monti.

God… a whole group of gay adolescent Latino boys. This was like my wet dream all through HS.
And thank god Monti got picked. Boyfriend is fucking HOOT! (And 18 - legal!)
i liked jg!!!
You forgot to add to JG’s list of attributes that ponytail, making him a triple threat. Also, that Monti is gayer than a Spring day.
And Johnny Wright and John Secada–separated at birth? And by a few hundred platanos? I think so.
so if menudo refers to small…small what? And if to change…change what? I’m tired and going to sleep.
