It warmed our hearts today to read that a recent altercation that occurred between teens of different races in South Florida turns out not to be a racially motivated hate-crime:
Prosecutors plan to drop hate-crime charges against five teens who brawled with a black college student last month at Haulover Beach Park Marina.
Stephen Barrett, 18, told prosecutors that instigator Eiichi Kitsuya, 15, who tangled with him, did not use the N-word but rather said ”nigga,” which some believe is a less-loaded term rooted in hip-hop culture.
”This was a fight that involved blacks, whites, Hispanics and Asians. It was not a hate crime. It included everyone,” [Miami-Dade prosecutor Breezye] Telfair said.
Can someone cue “We Are The World”? We’re getting a little misty.

Ha. Ha. Classic. I guess this is what it’s come to. We’ve got to be grateful for something.

@ el smrtmnky: that goes without saying. Mencia probably stole the idea from these guys.
