We’re getting word of a student walkout planned for today in protest of the treatment of the Jena 6 and more specifically to demand the release of the only youth that has been tried in the case, Mychal Bell. But with his recent release from jail on September 28th, will the walkout still occur? While it’s a far better reason to protest than the time our junior high school class walked out for the right to wear shorts to school, (hey, we had no a/c!), we’re sort of cynical about the effectiveness of protesting in this day and age. Guess that’s why we’re old. If anyone sees anything cool or exciting, send it our way.
