Hi, babydolls. I’m very excited to be a part of the glittering internet quinces that is Guanabee. As a Miami-born Cuban, my formative years smelled like agua de violetas, tasted of guayaba pastries and guilt, and looked a lot like a spikey-haired Catholic high school boy dancing with glow sticks at a house party while wearing khaki pants. Yes, it was all very traumatic. But hopefully I can work through the pain to keep all of you laughing, thinking and firmly grasping onto your glow sticks. If its got anything to do with quinceañeras, chongas, Mexican telenovelas starring ridiculously good looking people in skimpy school uniforms or any musical artist that might feature a woman in a bikini gyrating on the hood of a Mercedes, I’ll be on it like… well, like a woman in a bikini on the hood of a Mercedes in a reggaeton video. Pero, like, you know. Super classy. Many thanks to Daniel and Cindy for allowing me this awesome opportunity. They’ll continue to put the “can” in Mexican and I’ll do my very best to put the “best associate editor ever” in Cuban.
