BBC News recently took a look at the Soto family, five sisters and their parents who moved from Mexico to an Arkansas suburb. Simply. Amazing. Did you know Latinos live in suburbs? No, like, seriously, in houses. Some of them even have pet dogs!:

When you enter the quaint suburban home in the US state of Arkansas it feels like an all-American household.

The family dog, Coco, yaps at your heels. Family photographs adorn the walls.

Awww. :)

Then you notice that the television is tuned to a satellite signal coming from south of the border.

Uh oh…

“Since about 1990 we’ve probably gone from around 4-5%, to about 35%,” Springdale’s Mayor Jerre Van Hoose says, referring to the growth in his town’s Latin American population.

“This here used to be a Dairy Queen, or something like that,” he says, pointing towards a red-and-blue painted building now selling tacos and burritos.

Damn those Mexicans! Taking away our sweet, creamy ice-cream-like product and replacing it with food that isn’t Taco Bell! Tricking us into thinking they’re “All-American” with their quaint homes and their barking dogs and their family photographs. Quit changing the American landscape, you guys! Ok, sorry. Hey. Let’s try to look at the positive:

“It’s had a very positive impact in one way,” Mayor Van Hoose says.

“It’s a workforce we would not have had otherwise. They’ve been a real positive part of the growth in our economy.

Nice! The Mexicans, they like work.

Hells Bells, we can’t have that! People that live in America only celebrate AMERICAN holidays!! Fall in line, you’re American now (until we deport you)!

Of course Mexicans live in the suburbs. In fact, I live in the suburbs and there’s a Mexican living in our home. She’s wonderful. She cleans our toilets and cooks for us, too. God, I love cheap labor.

The first people in the US were native Americans. After the Europeans began coming into the land, it´s somehow undestood that eventually, any race in the world would settle for the American/worldwide dream. It seems that the general idea is having the freedom they didn´t have in their former homeland. So, in a nutshell, isn´t this the country for anyone to come and feel free from restrictions and live happily ever after??? So if a “real american” (white) yells at a latino, asian, african, or anyone else to go back home, why don´t they? They should go back home to Europe and stop being such asses (not all of them are) We should all leave and let the REAL AMERICANS, the native americans, make this country their home again. I´m mexican-irish-italian so anyone can kick my IMPRESSIVE CATHOLIC butt back from where I came any given day. And if you guys are worried that any güero will stand in front of you at the port of entry with a gun to your face saying “one more step into my country and I´ll blow your head off” just smile and go back. Sooner or later native americans will kick them out and they´ll be coming to Mexico. That´s when we can have our revenge. Oh! REAL AMERICAN holidays were celebrated by dancing around a fire, so don´t give me your bullcrap.
