Indigenous Argentine Gets His March On Toward Sainthood
14 November 2007, 12:45 PM. By Alex Alvarez

Ceferino Namuncura, a Mapuche Indian, was beatified in a ceremony attended by tens of thousands in Southern Argentina, an event many see as his initial step toward becoming the first-ever indigenous Argentine saint. He is credited with curing a woman of uterine cancer when she prayed to him seven years ago. However, a second miracle is needed before Namuncura can be named a Saint of the Catholic Church.
What a pimp! Putting the “cura” in Namuncura since 1897.
