A Latino law enforcement group is crying bullshit after reports stated that NY cops don’t resort to racial profiling when they stop black and brown people and beat them black and blue. Just kidding! That sort of thing doesn’t happen anymore:

“This study is comprised of endless excuses, statistical justifications,” said Anthony Miranda, executive chairman of the National Latino Officers Association of America.

“The report draws conclusions that have no basis in reality. If left unchallenged, it is the justification for racial profiling, abuse and discrimination,” said Miranda, a retired NYPD sergeant.

How silly. Everyone knows racism doesn’t even exist anymore:

Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne dismissed the Latino law enforcement group’s criticism yesterday, saying the group’s statement “exposes Miranda’s deep ignorance of the statistical process employed by Rand, a nationally respected nonprofit, which subjected its research to rigorous peer review.”

Miranda’s deep ignorance… because he’s brown? God, Deputy Police Commish Paul Browne. Don’t deny your Browne roots. You’re technically one of us. (Gooble, gobble! One of us! One of us!)

One of us, one of them? I guess if we keep pointing out differences that’s all we’ll find. Further, continuously referring to latins as “brown” limits this to a semi-race issue…it’s much deeper. It’s about culture and MOSTLY socioeconomic status.
