-Mexican- Sexican actress Mayrin Villanueva joins franchise vets Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench as the latest Bond girl. Casting directors had been specifically searching for a Latina Bond girl, as the 22nd Bond film, currently in pre-production, is set to take place in South America. Mexican news outlets cite Mayrin’s husband, Jorge Poza, as the source of these claims.
God damn. If we were married to someone who looked like that, we would be such a mixture of stupified and excited, we’d tell the world she was the next Bond girl, President of Cuba, the first person to walk on the moon and the inventor of bacon.

While I pick up my jaw from off the ground, I’m reminded that I saw ‘Casino Royale’ on the way back to Mexico City from Taxco earlier this fall. And as much as Daniel Craig plays a good Timex getting all rocked up by goons and his triple-crossing lover, I think the Bond franchise is redeeming itself.
And this latest piece of news goes a long way in doing so.
