A new site aimed at helping young girls and their families plan their quinces has slipped onto the internet riding a white elephant with a feather headdress while “Isn’t She Lovely?” blasts over the speakers of the Pretty Princess Powderpuff Gardens Hall Manor. The bilingual site, which launched this past June, was created by 22-year-old Natalie Richards:

QuinceClub.com was founded and is managed by Natalie Richards, a 22 year old-Latina entrepreneur and her staff of young Latinos. [Ed. note: Like a modern-day Kathie Lee Gifford!] Natalie’s experience in sales and marketing in the Hispanic market started with her decision to be home schooled at 16 starting that High School was not challenging enough and going to work for El Latino newspaper, the largest Hispanic publication in San Diego County.

We’re impressed!

The site offers advice on everything from makeup to dresses to party themes, which include “Pretty in Pink,” “Hollywood,” and “Teddy Bear.” Other topics include…

Hold up. Teddy bears?:

Decoration ideas

When kids think of bears they usually think of honey and bees, so a big hit for decorations is LOTS of yellow and black balloons and streamers. If possible have various teddy bears all around the room as well to tie in the theme.

Actually, we think of chubby, hirsute men dressed in leather. Which reminds us. We’re hungry:

Menu ideas

When you’re hosting a teddy bear party even your menu should be centered on teddy. Here is a cute way to turn Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches into a beary fun treat!

Ay, no. Let’s move on. Arts and/or crafts!:

Bear Party - Activities and craft ideas

Crafts with a bear theme abound but here are some quick ideas for your teddy bear party. Make a paper bear chain (paper dolls) that the kids can color and decorate. Use paper plates to make paper bear masks.

This is very obviously a party for the type of 15-year-old girl who wears “Winnie the Pooh” overalls and buys Hello Kitty tampons or something. Grow up! Quinces are for making unwise decisions and waking up with your Teddy Graham in Carlos’ or Eddie’s or Chris’ honey pot.

I have two suggestions for a theme: a nopal theme and a farm animals theme.

NOPAL: All the tables have green tablecloths, the dress is green, the menu is green, and most importantly, the damn quincean[insert tilde]era wears a nopal on her forehead.

FARM ANIMALS: Love farm animals? Your family loves them, too, especially in a taco! Create decorations of your favorite farm animals to hang above the tables while your family feasts on all the farm animals possible: carne asada, carnitas, birria de chivo, codornices, chicharrones, pollo rostizado, and many more!

    That website disgusts me.

i think the reason she left school wasn’t because she needed to be challenged, but because she was so fucking lame.

Alex, I might take a year off college and do just that: quince planning. My family would hate me for doing that, but the suburban Latinos would love it because I’d make the quinces more “authentic” with mariachi music and whatnot.

I wonder if any of the girls that were on “My Sweet 16″ would use this site for party ideas.
