The Great Turkey Debate Continues

We’re not the only ones obsessed with whether or not Latinos celebrate Thanksgiving. El Diario in New York took to the streets to find out the various reasons people don’t dig on turkey. Turns out some folks think it’s not respectful to the Indians who were killed by Whitey. So they’d rather sit in the Queens Mall food court and eat giant pretzels. Others say turkey has no flavor. Say what??? You must not be drinking the juice out of the pan, hermano. And still others say their relatives are far away so they don’t feel like celebrating. Dear immigrant, don’t you know the best reason for gorging onesself is loneliness? Why, that’s one of the principals this great country was founded on. That, and Black Friday.

    Hahaha, wut.

I’m a Salvadorian in LA, and hell yeah I celebrate sanksgivin. For me it means 4 days of eating and drinking in excess.

Thanksgiving is just another commercialized American holiday that most people don’t know it’s true origins or rather just ignore them.

    I choose the latter.
