Not content to endlessly annoy solely English-speaking audiences, the Energizer has decided to add a “Latin beat” to its iconic bunny’s constant, brain-numbing drumming:
Energizer Holdings Inc. of Town and Country has a new campaign to connect Spanish-speaking consumers to its batteries and drum-beating rabbit.
Leaving the drum solos to professionals, the company teamed up with Latin Grammy-nominated Elvis Crespo and the Camila band to craft Energizer’s first Latin music campaign. The musicians wrote and recorded their longest songs ever, tipping the hat to the bunny’s reputation for “going and going.”
Oh joy:
Energizer used clips of the songs in television commercials during the Latin Grammy ceremony on Nov. 8. In the ads, Crespo sings in front of a huge mound of sheet music and Camila’s lead singer fights a sore throat from too much singing. The commercials, still running on the Univision and Telemundo Spanish-language networks, feature the bunny and a big lithium battery, Energizer’s offering for advanced devices like digital cameras.
See, Tom? We are all really one and the same, united in our abilities to reach for our lithium battery-operated remote controls at the prospect of another gimmicky, cheesy advertising campaign.

This after the Taco Bell voiceover dude magically developed a marked Spanish accent. We’re clearly taking over the world.
