Chevy Ad Proves "Cane" Is Little More Than An Hour-Long Commercial

An ill-placed ad for Chevy Silverados, the truck used by a character in the primetime drama “Cane,” gave away a major plot point during the show:

When he took off, Jamie drove the Chevy into the family cane fields, which had previously been set on fire by a rival seeking revenge. Jamie then was trapped by the blaze.

Oh God, what’s going t- Yaaaaawwwwn:

Alex ran after Jamie and eventually found him away from the truck in the smoke-filled cane field. But as they pondered their fate in the cane field, there was a commercial break, helping build the drama for the potential life-and-death situation. That is, of course, until the commercial aired.
The spot, it turned out, killed the setup. It was for a Chevy Silverado and keyed to a scene that was yet to come.
In the commercial, though, viewers saw a scene of Jamie’s truck smashing through the burning sugarcane and the announcer asked, “Did you think that stunt with the Silverado was hot?” while showing the stunt.

Oops! Good thing no one was watching:

A CBS spokesman yesterday said the network did get one call from a viewer, complaining about the misplaced commercial.

Yeah, awesome. Oh, give us a moment while we call our sweetie on this fabulous Motorola Razr2. It retails for $299, but you can get it for free. Wink!
