Steven Ray Hislinger, a former officer from North Carolina, pleaded guilty to going after Hispanic drivers in order to steal from them:

On Nov. 13 and Dec. 22, 2005, Hilsinger stopped Hispanic drivers for minor traffic violations. Instead of asking for identification, he took their wallets and returned them only after taking all of their cash, authorities said.

On Sept. 8 and Sept. 18, 2006, Hilsinger stopped another Hispanic driver and stole a total of $340 from him, authorities said. The driver was an undercover police officer, and Hilsinger was arrested by the FBI after the second incident.

Why go after Hispanic drivers specifically? If he had tried, say, our brother’s car, he would have maybe been able walk away with an empty Big Gulp cup, a stale stick of gum, a scratched “Now That’s What I Call Music! IV” CD and, like, thirty-six cents in change.

Steve is a good person. I wish people wouldn’t judge him so harshly! Not saying his actions were right but think about it….many of those hispanics that are here illegally are receving government aid and are working without taxes being withheld. There are countless crimes committed without prosecution because they flee back to Mexico. This is illegal as well. I pray that Steve’s life is not ruined because of this. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Umm, you are judged by your actions. Don’t do dumb shit and expect not to be judged for it.The article makes no mention of him targeting people here illegally, it said hispanics-you know some of us where born here or came here legally, and if they are here illegally then he can take them to jail not take their money.
