Actress Eva Mendes is PETA’s spokesperson for their winter anti-fur campaign. Shit, we already bought everyone on our list underwear made from the hides of crying baby bunnies. Says Eva:
I love animals, but I hadn’t had a pet since I was a kid. I recently got a dog and he’s not only made me a happier girl—he’s made me much more sympathetic to animal rights. I look at my beautiful dog and think, “Of course I’d never eat him or skin him for his fur, so why would I be okay with eating a cow or wearing a cheetah?” It’s just not right. It’s a contradiction.
She has a point. We don’t eat or skin our parents, but we eat fish and wear cowhide. Is this ethical? Hypocritical? Well, we wouldn’t want to be accused of being either!
Oh these soft, supple boots? Yeah, they’re new.
Wink!

Yeah PETA wants you to think animals are like people in that they deserve the same rights. Even though PETA destroys more animals than SPCA.
