Canana Films, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s production company, is shooting a film called Sin Nombre, which will follow Central-American immigrants as they cross Mexico on their journey to the U.S:

Canana Film’s latest project is entitled “Sin Nombre” (“Without Name”) and recently started shooting in the central state of Morelos, the Mexican daily “El Universal” reported.

Tell us more!:

It is the debut feature film of Japanese-American filmmaker Cary Fukunaga, who made the short films “Victoria para Chino” and “Kofi.” The lead actors are Paulina Gaytán (“Trade”) and the child Christian Ferrer.

Pablo Cruz, the third founding member of Canana Films, said they are showing the immigration conflict in the Mexican frontier, “where the migra [immigration police] is worse than [in the U.S.]”

Immigrants, personal journey, heartache, struggle, whatever. Will the movie feature two boys finding solace in one another’s arms after a shared, heart-rending tryst with their dying, older travel companion? No? Oh. How about robots?
