Making Tamales For Dummies
12 December 2007, 12:15 PM. By Daniel Mauser
After our earlier post on the gentrification of tamales, we thought we’d take a look around the internet for more proof that tamales have entered the mainstream. What better sign could there be than their very own …For Dummies webpage? This one features a pretty nifty illustration that we’d personally like to have enlarged and hung in our apartment. But, that would most likely lead to large-scale binges. (Let’s do it!) We do have to express a personal peeve, though, with the fact that no one in the freaking world seems to know that the singular form of tamales is tamal. Why, sweet baby Jesus in a manger, why?

Great info! But I’ll probably just keep buying mine at 1:30 a.m. from the lady at the bar down the street from my house. LOL!
HEB! Best grocery store ever. And yes, I feel your pain on the tamal(e) problem. If you say tamal, no one even knows what you’re talking about.
