A new dating show hoping to pair immigrants with temporary visas with the green-card-carrying creepsters who love ‘em shows that love isn’t only blind, it’s pretty dumb, too:

A Los Angeles company is touting a new reality game show called “Who Wants to Marry a U.S. Citizen” that aims to create televised matrimony between legal citizens and immigrants who have temporary visas.

The show’s backers at Morusa Media hope to make a sort of love match between reality TV and a national obsession with immigration. But the producers make no promise that a marriage will occur or lead to U.S. citizenship.

Marrying people for their citizenship? Taking advantage of people’s residency status to ensure they’ll stay with you? Tacky! We’ll stick to dating dudes for their large pe-. Personalities:

In a statement, Morusa said that while it does not guarantee marriage or legal status, it will pay for a wedding party and honeymoon should a marriage result.

“We’re just out to play matchmaker,” said the show’s host, Angelo Gonzales. “There are thousands of U.S. citizens seeking a spouse, and just as many immigrants seeking the same. So we want to make it a win-win situation for all involved.”

This sounds questionable at best. We’ll stick to classier dating shows like “Flavor of Love” and “A Shot at Love” and “A Shot You Get After Sampling That Funky Love Flavor. Of Love.”

This could work….wait a minute what am I drinking…no wait it can

The guy who supposedly has the US Citizenship, in reality does not have it. What a twist, so the courtee will have to choose love with an illegal or cash.

I would say that this is one of the most offensive things for immigrants, but then again, it still doesnt match the shame that was “Gana La Verde.” Did anyone ever see this show, it was a reality Fear Factor show that was on one of the latin networks a few months back. The show had latin immigrant contestants do ridiculous stunts, and the winner, get this, got a green card. seriously, look it up.

From my basic understanding of the immigration laws, which I totally crib off of movies from the 80s-Born In East LA, Green Card, Predator-wouldn’t La Migra shake their head at this and say the marriage is a sham and therefore not valid for citizenship?
