Rush and Malloy do us the Christmas favor of talking to an unnamed fellow passenger who was on that Northwest Airlines flight that had to be diverted due to Erik Estrada’s son Brandon losing his marbles midflight:
During the flight, he became agitated. He was convinced that nobody was flying the plane. He jumped up and reached over the other passengers and lifted up their window cover. Then he tried to get out of the airplane. Then he tried to get into the cockpit. He kept saying there were no pilots. It was wild.
Totally wild! The most exciting thing that ever happened to us on a Northwest flight is that it never took off!
Yet flight attendants remained calm as they handled the situation, our witness attests. “They found military and police passengers and quietly brought them up front, and they all restrained him,” said the passenger. “Half the people didn’t know what was going on. They kept it under wraps.”
Insert “nuts with your flight” joke here.
Estrada was taken off the plane in Oklahoma City but not arrested. The flight continued, but arrived five hours late in Memphis, where Northwest footed the bill for hotel rooms, our passengers reports.
This is all very sad and we are not making fun of it. That much.

this IS very sad. mental instability is very debilitating and its sad he can’t lead a “normal” life. he was probably off his meds and bugged out. i see it all the time in nyc. good luck to a fellow Trojan getting the help he needs.

i think it is truly sad what happened with brandon estrada .i wish all of the best to his father i am a huge fan of.i hope he can get some help and that things will turn out better for him.the passengers must have been scared seeing all of the things that happen now a days.good luck to him and his family.
