Unshocking Revelations: New Jersey Cops Mostly Shoot Blacks And Hispanics
11 December 2007, 10:00 AM. By Alex Alvarez
A study by the New Jersey Star-Ledger released this morning says the vast majority of people shot by local and state New Jersey cops are Hispanic or Black. The story also says the vast majority of those cops are White. The study uses data supplied by the state Attorney General’s Office, which now routinely investigates all law enforcement shootings regardless of whether or not the officer hits their target. This year, more than ¾ of the 47 people shot by cops were minorities.
In a majority of shootings, according to the Attorney General’s
documents, the officer was either returning fire from an assailant or shooting at an armed person threatening to pull the trigger, an analysis of preliminary police accounts found. In nearly a quarter of the cases, police were firing at vehicles being driven at them.
Peter Aseltine, a spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office, said the numbers may appear “racially disproportionate” but cautioned against drawing conclusions until each investigation is completed.
We will only draw a picture of Eddie Murphy as Tyrone Green with the words, “Kill The White People” next to it. Kidding. Kidding.

Well, what do you expect? That shooting target wasn’t gonna take no jive talkin’ from no cracker cop!
My god, where did you get that? It might be my new avatar.
No way, I refuse to believe that our most honorable policemen would shoot it it were not absolutely necessary, this blows my mind!
“Oops, it was only damn a burrito wrapped in tin foil!”
I love that picture. I don’t know where you found it, but I’m definitely stealing it. I need a new MySpace profile pic.
