2008 Premios Nuestros Nominations Reward Poor Spelling, Mediocrity

The 21st Premios Nuestros have announced their list of nominees and we couldn’t be more excited if we’d been punched in the face by Benny Moré:

AB Quintanilla III & the Kumbia All Starz [Ed. note: Pet. Peeve.] received three nominations - one for best pop album of the year for their album “AB Quintanilla III Presenta Kumbia All Starz,” group of the year and song of the year for “Chiquilla.”

Ay k sooper kewl!

Also nominated in the same category were Ricky Martin, “MTV Unplugged” and Reik, “Secuencia.” Martin and Chayanne were also nominated for best male artist of the year.

In the best ranchero artist, the nominees are Alicia Villarreal, Pedro Fernandez, Pepe Aguilar, Vicente Fernandez.

We had no idea half these acts were still alive. So, hey, cheers to not being dead!

In the best regional Mexican album of the year, the nominees are “Crossroads: Cruce de Caminos,” Intocable; “Ahora y Siempre,” Alacranes Musical; “Detalles y Emociones,” Los Tigres del Norte; “El Amor que Nunca Fue,” Conjunto Primavera; and “Recio, Recio Mis Creadorez,” Los Creadorez del Pasito Duranguense de Alfredo Ramirez.
