By now we’ve all heard about the prominent Latino actor who is making quite an impression on folks with his performance in the Oscar-bound Cohen Brothers hit, “No Country For Old Men.” We’re speaking, of course, of former Texas State Senator Hector Uribe of the 27th Legistlative District. (Oh yeah. There is that other guy. Yawn. Whatever.) Even though Uribe’s character is only billed as, “Well-dressed Mexican” in the credits and he now apparently goes by “Roland”, his PR train has managed to get him a write-up in the Austin American-Statesman:
He’s one of the bad guys at the bus stop who tricks the mother-in-law of the Josh Brolin character into disclosing how they might find Brolin.
The mother-in-law utters the line, “It’s not often you see a Mexican in a suit.”
Unless it’s a zoot suit, of course! You might remember Uribe’s daughter from her turn in this summer’s internet meme 300 Mexicans. These guys are a regular bunch of Kardashians.
