Jessica Alba Explains That Whole "I'm Not A Latina" Thing To Latina Magazine
Sources have confirmed that Jessica Alba is Latina magazine’s March cover girl. And good for her! In a quote that didn’t make it into the final interview, Jessica takes some time to sit down and address those pesky expectations that keep following her around:
“No one gives Cameron Diaz a hard time for not speaking Spanish,” says Alba. “Her dad’s Cuban, and I was telling her I feel so bad because everyone is so nasty to me for not speaking Spanish. She’s like, ‘I don’t speak Spanish! I barely speak English!’,” says the pregnant star with a laugh.
Sigh. Jessica, allow us to be frank?:
Cameron can get away from being labeled a “Latina actress,” with all the expectations and stereotypes that category brings with it, for the simple fact that she is blonde and light-skinned. And the popular media doesn’t equate that with being Latina. Plus she doesn’t, like, actually deny her Latino background or bring it up as a point of discussion whenever she’s given the opportunity. But, hey! Te queremos todavia, Yessie. We still love you, Jess.

She can say she is whatever she wants, but then why be on the mag of the people’s face you spit on? Yea she can sell magazine covers because she says retarded shit and has a cute face to match, which obviously the meatheaded men love. (such as latinogamer and cabrito demonstrate, ps. you both said the same thing very eloquently might i add) But men aren’t reading Latina! the women who claim it are reading it!
