<description>Don't blame her unless you've done it yourself. Speaking from experience, (twice) she has good reason to fear breastfeeding. I am totally pro-breastfeeding, but I'm not gonna lie. The first 2 weeks are the most painful experience my boobs have ever had. For some reason after the 3rd or 4th week it gets a lot better. So no, I don't think she's wrong to worry!

		<description>@ laura
You are right it is a cultural obsession, no argument there BUT

I just think the health of the child should take priority over that neverind that would be silly.

<description>You know, during pregnancy your areolas get darker,--redder if they're pink, browner if they're beige--and get bigger, like several times their size. It takes a while for them to go back to their shade and size. Your breasts also flatten out after your pregnancy/breastfeeding, they don't stay that larger milk engorged size.

So given a culture's concern with large, perky tits with small areolas, I find it hard to believe your average U.S. citizen/resident/... would not be afraid of the effects breastfeeding will have on one's breasts.

. . .just sayin'

<description>That's a very common hang up for a lot of women and I don't think its fair to suggest that there's something wrong with her character for being honest.
