Speaking from experience, (twice) she has good reason to fear breastfeeding. I am totally pro-breastfeeding, but I'm not gonna lie. The first 2 weeks are the most painful experience my boobs have ever had. For some reason after the 3rd or 4th week it gets a lot better. So no, I don't think she's wrong to worry! It takes a while for them to go back to their shade and size. Your breasts also flatten out after your pregnancy/breastfeeding, they don't stay that larger milk engorged size.
