Schools in southern Texas California have taken to hiring photographers to photograph children as they cross the border on their commute to school. Smile! You’ve been expelled:
The policy began when Calexico, Calif., school officials hired a photographer to take pictures of children as they crossed the border.
The pictures are then used as evidence to expel students who are residents of Mexico.
The practice, in place for two years, was started because classrooms in the border community are seriously overcrowded.
Citizenship isn’t the issue for school officials, they say; district residency is.
God, that’s awful.
Can you imagine, like, looking back on your “caught crossing the border to school” picture and being, like, “Oh my god, you guys. I can’t believe I thought JNCOs were cool!”

We actually meant Mexican. What’s this California thing, anyway? It’s like, a little west of Bushwick, right? I think I once went to a Duane Reade there.

they were doing this in texas over 30 years ago, actually. the school district in laredo was monitoring the crossing of students from nuevo laredo to their schools and actually stopping some of them at the border.
