Cameron Diaz and “Grey’s Anatomy” cadaver Ellen Pompeo have both placed bids on the same apartment in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. This is just like news, except the opposite:

Two Hollywood stars [Ed note: Generous!] might have to duke it out for the same Chelsea apartment. Sources said both Cameron Diaz and “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo are eyeing the same pad in the Chelsea Club at 444 W. 19th St. The apartment, boasting four bedrooms, four baths and six private terraces, is listed for $5.5 million. Diaz, who first looked at the place when she was dating Justin Timberlake, has now seen it three times, while this week was Pompeo’s first visit. Calls to the broker, Fredrik Eklund, weren’t returned.

Well there’s totally a basement apartment available in our building, guys! It doesn’t get much light, but it also doesn’t get much rat feces, so it’s a pretty fair trade.
