Wednesday, San Francisco’s crazy, liberal, hippie publication Beyond Chron published an article by Matt Gonzalez criticizing Barack Obama. The next day, Ralph Nader announced Matt Gonzalez as his running mate. Coincidence? Of course not! But he did raise some rather interesting points about the Senator from Illinois who is running on a platform of “change” and not a whole lot of other details. In addition to accusing Obama of, amongst other things, being afraid to pose with gay-marrying mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom, telling America’s pro-Israeli government lobby that Arabs suck thereby disavowing his previous support for the plight of the Palestinians, and voting to build the border wall and then telling Tejanos this month that he’ll come up with a different plan when he gets to the White House—totes, he promises—Gonzalez also has some more hard hitting evidence against the man who dances like the 70’s.
Since taking office in January 2005 he has voted to approve every war appropriation the Republicans have put forward, totaling over $300 billion. He also voted to confirm Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State despite her complicity in the Bush Administration’s various false justifications for going to war in Iraq. Why would he vote to make one of the architects of “Operation Iraqi Liberation” the head of US foreign policy?
Gonzalez also notes that Obama voted for the Patriot Act in July 2005—the one where it’s okay for the government to listen to our phone sex—as well as campaigned in Connecticut for Joseph Lieberman when Lieberman faced anti-war opponent Ned Lamont. Obama called Lieberman his mentor. According to Gonzalez, radical political journalist Alexander Cockburn called Lieberman “Bush’s closest Democratic ally on the Iraq War.”
Why would Obama have done that if he was truly against the war?
We don’t know, Matt! And even more head-scratchers follow! According to Gonzalez, Obama:
Yeah, Matt, but Barry is sooo cute. And, let’s be honest. That’s what’s really got your goat, isn’t it?
The Obama Craze: Count Me Out [Beyond Chron]

Matt is the best thing to happen to latino politics in a long time.

is tough on corporations and pushed the minimum wage in sf to 9.75 per hour!

Attention Obama haters, accusing Obama of having no substance over and over doesn’t make it true. He has repeatedly expressed his plans and policies in all of his televised debates. If you don’t know where he stands on issues than you must have ridden the short bus. Also, Obama expressed willingness to go after Al Queda if they’re setting up base there, not Palastine in general.
GO….OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

@Buttface: hmm, maybe you’re right. We’re all idiots who should just jump on the Obama bandwagon. We shouldn’t ask questions or challenge the status quo. I mean, this is America; we currently have an inexperienced president in the White House. Let’s elect another one. Yay!!!!!! Now, let’s all celebrate Barack Obama, a man of integrity and substance. Here, check out these clips:
Obama’s great accomplishments (what a joke!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmLfE30-kZw&feature=related
Obama, the honest man (whatever!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAJYMgX4JuU&eurl=http://againstobama.wordpress.com/
Yeah, I’m totally voting for Hillary. We don’t need a motivational speaker/cheerleader in the White House. We need a leader.

Lol @ Guana
You are an idiot for dodging my point with an unrelated and inaccurate counter-argument. I said that Obama has explained what his plans and policies were, one can debate his policies, but he does have some. Hillary has actully plagiarized some of them, along with his message of “change”. Now, just becuause Sam Watson liked Obama’s message and didn’t research his accomplishments does not mean Obama doesnt have any.
Obama started the Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state of Illinois. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. Not to mention the Campaign ethics reform bill that he co-authored which levels the playing field between the lobbyist and common people.
As far as the accusations regarding NAFTA, spokesman for the Canadian Embassy to the United States, Tristan Landry, flatly denied the CTV report that a senior Obama aide had told the Canadian ambassador not to take seriously Obama’s denunciations of Nafta. ‘None of the presidential campaigns have called either the Ambassador or any of the officials here to raise Nafta,’ Landry said. He said there had been no conversations at all on the subject. Unless a recording of this phone call can be provided, there are no basis for the accusations.

I’ll go in to say that Obama was an unknown underdog who announced his candidacy to challenge the status quo. Now that he has overcome that, Hillary wants to change it around and call HIM the status quo. Anybody like Guana, who is gullible enough to fall for that should definately support Clinton for they are the type of supporter she’s looking for.
