Patti Solis Doyle, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager with fabulous hair and a mega-watt smile, told reporters that, no, she totally wasn’t discarded like the raspita at the bottom of a pot, to put Latino-ly:
On Tuesday, the campaign faced another shift when deputy campaign manager Mike Henry resigned, following Ms. Solis Doyle. He said he wanted to pave the way for the new campaign manager to build her own team. Both Mr. Henry and Ms. Solis Doyle felt pressure to allow a new direction in the campaign.
Ms. Solis Doyle recently returned home after two months on the road to find a family accustomed to her absence, she told colleagues. When her 6-year-old son cried out one night recently, he rebuffed his mom, saying, “I want Daddy.” Ms. Solis Doyle flew out of the room in tears and told her husband: “Joey doesn’t want me. S- this campaign, I’m quitting.”
Kids are bitches.
Some Hispanic leaders had written to Mrs. Clinton that it would be “troubling to many” if Ms. Solis Doyle, the first Latina to run a presidential campaign, was removed because of primary losses that were other people’s fault. The campaign urged Ms. Solis Doyle, whose parents and siblings emigrated from Mexico, to state publicly that she wasn’t forced out. Ms. Solis Doyle told reporters: “This is my decision, my choice, my timing….There was no pressure.”
Nope. No pressure at all. Please ignore that previous sentence up there about being urged to say this by my former colleagues. Haha. I’m so happy! Hahahahahasob.
Clinton Team Seeks to Calm Turmoil [The Wall Street Journal]

Only marginally related: Clinton was supposed to come to Corpus Christi on Wednesday but instead opted to visit Robstown, an extremely smaller town near Corpus with lots of Mexicans. My mom theorizes it’s because people in Robstown are more likely to attend an impromptu Clinton rally, since there’s absolutely nothing else to do there. Also, it’s apparently a high concentration of Mexicans, her target audience in Texas. Either way I’m pissed. I’ll still vote for her in the primary, but it would’ve been nice to see her wrinkly face in person.

@ Fat Elvis: Are you in CC? I heart CC and those Acapulco restaurants!

I am in Corpus! From Corpus, as well. I don’t know if I’ve been to an Acapulco restaurant. I’ve been away at college for four years, so I’m still getting used to all the developments (Starbucks, Krispy Kreme…spelling?, Kohl’s, CVS, Macy’s, Petco, Quiznos, HEB Plus, more than one theatre, etc). I’m not quite sure what we had here before, but we’ve got a shitload of stuff now.

@ Fat Elvis: I have many friends, family, loved ones there. I go there ALL the time. I’m usually out on the bluff drinking at Snoopy’s or winning money from old ladies at the Saratoga Bingo. :)

@Fat Elvis & L_P: Get a room! Also, if I’m not mistaken, everyone’s favorite token minority, Eva Longoria, is from CC. Yeah, maybe we shouldn’t go there. The topic of brainless Latinas is depressing.
