Guess Who Voted The Fuck Out Of The California Primary?

Nothing like the fear of deportation to motivate a group of people to get out and vote. Looks like the legal portion of California High-spanics is not taking any chances. They turned out in record numbers to vote those crazy wall-building Republicans right out of Washingtown.

California Hispanics for the first time performed as well as any other racial group in a statewide election.

Mercury News reports this had to do with two factors. Strong voting drives during the immigration rallies and Hillary Clinton’s attention to detail:

In the month leading up to the election, her campaign ran an extensive surrogate operation, using such well-known figures as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and farmworker union organizer Dolores Huerta.

California Democratic Party Chairman Art Torres said Hispanics were enthusiastic about Clinton because of the “constant attention” she and her husband paid to California during and after his presidency. “The feeling reminded me of the feelings for Bobby in ‘68,” said Torres, referring to Robert F. Kennedy, who won California in that year’s nominating contest.

Which may have helped Clinton receive the 67% of votes she got. Either that or the fact that Obama’s Black. Just kidding! He got 32% of Hispanic votes, too.

As for that enigmatic voter—the Hispanic Republican—they set a record as well by making up 13% of the vote. Which means more California Hispanics hate themselves today than ever before, but at least they’re voting? Or something.

Others said Hispanic GOP participation may only have seemed higher because of the lack of enthusiasm among white Republicans for their party’s candidates.

“Maybe non-Latino Republicans stayed home,” said Louis DeSipio, a political scientist at the University of California, Irvine. “So, the Latino share went up.”

That sounds super scientific.

pockets of conservative latinos are rising. In the Golden State, latinos own businesses and can pursue any fucked up religion they want, so Latino Republicans are going to be a more common theme in years to come in California.

You were right the first time. Latino’s issues with blacks played a big role in Obama’s low percented from that group. Mexicans and Cubans want to be white and think that hating blacks is how you get there. Mexicans will vote republican before voting for a black dem. That played out in California as well as Florida. Puerto Ricans and somewhat different, they are more progressive thinkers that Mexicans and Cubans.
