Has chEfrain Lost Interest In Democracy?

‘Member Chef Efrain Cuevas? Who could forget his lovable mug covered in goat’s blood? Not us, swoon. In fact, it was while we were -stalking- researching him over at his website that we discovered a little side project he once seemed to care an awful lot about called, Cook the Vote! (Exclamation point his.)

Cook the Vote! is a grassroots democracy campaign that promotes getting involved and getting informed about the Presidential Election in 2008 through community dining. You can create your own supper club and host dinners anytime, anywhere.
We will provide all the resources and information you need to make it happen, and also a place to blog it and tell the rest of the country about your events.

Only problem is, chEfrain just doesn’t seem that into democracy since the presidential election year has come upon us. His last post was December 4th when he encouraged us to “start thinking about electing our next leader.” Perhaps none of the candidates had enough animal slaughtering endowments in their platforms? Or he lost his will to go on when Bill Richardson dropped out of the race? Take heart, chEfrain! The show must go on. Fortunately, he did leave us a delicious sounding recipe for Braised Short Ribs w/ Bourbon Pomegranate Molasses that has us just salivating for certain unalienable rights. Like the right to pick dead cow from between our teeth with the sauce of a million sugar canes running down our chins.

Also, a poll of chEfrain’s readers (pictured at left) overwhelmingly opposes the building of a wall between the U.S. and Mexico border. Never ask a group of foodies if they want to close off access to the greatest cuisine in the world. Not to mention the greatest collection of reasonably priced line chefs. You’ll get laughed out of Washington.
