Longtime readers of Guanabee, might recall our report back in July about ICED, the video game that lets you be an illegal immigrant teen in America traversing the obstacles that come with the territory. But we had no idea that the game hadn’t launched yet until we got an email letting us know that it launched today:

NEW YORK – February 18, 2008 –- Breakthrough (www.breakthrough.tv), an international human rights organization, today launched its compelling video game, ICED (I Can End Deportation), to help reframe the immigration debate in the United States and ensure due process and fairness for all those who live in the country. The game is available for free download at www.icedgame.com.

So check it out and let us know how it goes. If it’s any good, perhaps a tournament is in order. Winner gets a free under-the-table internship. Just kidding, DHS.

@ Diego: My mac crashes repeatedly upon trying to run the “game”. This game is as much fun as a ride with la Migra in a paddy wagon. Maybe they could have concentrated less on deportation and more on quality testing.

Ditto here. Most likely it’s PC friendly. Just like the government!

Is there a level on this game where players can forgo all the trouble and woe and legally apply for citzenship instead of breaking the laws of this country and having to live like the criminals they are?
