Jessica Alba not only stars in movies about ghosts that no one watches, she also has direct contact with ghosts while no one’s watching:
Movie star Jessica Alba has spoken of her spiritual side and related a tale of a terrifying teenage experience when the covers were ripped from her bed and an unknown ‘presence’ lay on top of her.
The psychic phenomenon so terrified Alba and her parents that they had the house blessed and burned sage to keep ghosts away.
Yeah, keep burning that “sage,” Alba.
“I had no idea what it was. I felt this pressure and I couldn’t get up, I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t do anything. Something definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn’t get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents’ room and I don’t think I spent many nights in that house ever again.”
Oddly enough, creepy Uncle Ned was sitting there in the living room, wearing nothing but a tutu, a party hat and a guilty smile.
TEENAGE JESSICA ALBA WAS ATTACKED BY A GHOST IN BED [Holy Moly]

oddly enough, I have heard this story many many times, all from womenz or menz who look like womenz

Sounds like sleep paralysis. I feel like people are so ignorant when it comes to sleeping disorders. People going to psych wards for insomnia. Britney Spears not sleeping for days, behaving bizarrely and then being pegged bipolar. I’m surprised Jessica Alba went with ‘ghosts’ and didn’t interpret the incident as telekinesis.

Truth be told, I’ve actually had that sensation before (without my covers being torn off) while in kind of a half-asleep state. My boyfriend said its from skipping a breath or somesuch…?
So then I pushed him off my face.

Yep, Fat Elvis is right. She probably had a sleeping disorder. Certain conditions are more common in children and tend to disappear in adulthood.

Yes, ive also had this senstation….your sleeping but your are fully aware of your surrounding….your concious. You try to move but you cant, and you try to wake up from it, but you cant. It feels like it lasts for 10 min but its really only a few seconds. Your brian is not sending the proper impulses to your body…….so yes jessica…it was ghosts….handy that your parents had “Sage” in the spice rack…..

Does everyone in here only “believe in science”? I believe in science but I believe in the spiritual as well based on experiences I’ve had. This has happened to me before when I was laying wide awake in bed and it scared the shit out of me cuz I couldn’t scream or speak for help when I tried, I felt muzzled. I totally believe that there could be a supernatural reason for this…

I only believe in science! I have no need for religion or belief in supernatural phenomenon in my life. Do you have something against empirical truth, Xica? Is ignorance really that appealing?

I told you so, all cute latinas experience this

I also get the same half-asleep but awake sensation. I usually get them during a nap and not during extended night sleep.
I don’t know if it’s science, supernatural or both. But I do know it’s freaky! And not freaky in a good way.

I am well-versed on sleep paralysis, as it is a frequent visitor since childhood. It doesn’t happen so often any more, but when it does, it is very annoying. I once had the sensation that something alive was holding down the upper part of my body, and I got really pissed because it seemed like I was awake and that my dog had jumped up on me. Once I gathered my wits, I just waited it out until it passed. It can be a traumatizing experience, and you wake up sweating and gasping and scared, sometimes, especially if you are little. You think you can feel, see and hear things that aren’t there, like the sensation of covers being pulled away. But, hey, maybe there is a supernatural component. There are layers to consciousness that we may not have a handle on yet…

Guana, you only believe in science? You think this makes you less ignorant? A closed mind is very ignorant. You can discuss without insulting…it’s called maturity…

@ Gwenny: “You can discuss without insulting…it’s called maturity.”
I could not agree more. :)

i’m late but i’ve experienced this about three times in my life all within the same week. i never believed in ghosts until after my experience. at first i felt someone sitting at the foot of my bed. i looked and no on was there. i freaked out and prayed and fell asleep. the next day i felt heavy feet get ON my bed and walk from the foot of my bed to the head of my bed next to me. Then i felt this presence get off the bed. Again, i prayed and fell asleep. Then the third night, i was sleeping and was woken up by a presence spooning me! i prayed again and fell asleep. Then the last time i felt this presence lay on top of me. This whole week this happened was the most tumultuous time of my life. I didnt know what to make of my experiences since i didnt believe in ghosts. I didnt know who to talk to since i was living all alone in London and didnt want to confide in the roomies for fear they’d think i was losing it. I prayed, went to church, contemplated what to do. Then i researched on “spirits” and read how to get rid of them. Basically, they are like 12 year old boys. They like scaring people and annoying people. So all you have to do is confront him/her and tell them that you’re annoyed and they need to stop because its no longer funny. So like a LOCA i did this and low and behold, it worked. This presence never bothered me again.

@Gwenny: Yes, I do believe that makes me less ignorant in terms of factual knowledge. Also, what kind of blog do you think this is? Do you actually read Cindy’s blog posts? When it comes to insulting people, she’s far superior. If you and L_P want “maturity,” may I suggest you try a lovely Christian blog. Best wishes to you, Gwenny! :)
