Francisco Loaiza is the proprietor and sole employee of Dallas, Texas’ “Karaoke Yellow Cab,” which allows its driver to become easily distracted by a backseat full of drunken secretaries bellowing Elton John and Billy Joel:
The ceiling of Mr. Loaiza’s cab is decorated with silver compact discs and tubes of black and plasma lights. Under the seat is a flashing red police light, and on the floor by the driver is a Tech Magic Sing ED-11000 – “the best karaoke machine in the world,” Mr. Loaiza said – programmed with 3,600 songs in English and 1,600 in Spanish.
He uses the same cab for his Medicaid patients but says they don’t use the karaoke machine.
“They’re too old or they’re sick,” he said.
There’s nothing we so enjoy as a ride through busy city streets, late at night, while our cab driver is proudly showing off his ability to multi-task. Preferably without wearing pants:
One time, he dropped off an intoxicated passenger and she walked off with his microphone. “I never did get it back,” he said.
Still, he loves his work.
“I think it’s the best job any human being could have,” he said. “There are a lot of beautiful ladies in this cab, and they love to sing and have a good time. Of course, I’m a married man.”
One time, a passenger not only tipped him but kissed him on the cheek.
“When I got home, my wife saw the lipstick and was mad at me,” Mr. Loaiza said. “But I told her, ‘This is just business.’ “
This is exactly what we tell our boyfriend when we come home from a busy day of blogging with lipstick all over our ears, wearing some cab driver’s pants and holding a microphone.

My entry would go something like “Subete a mi moto, nunca has conocido un amor tan pelon.”
Or at least that’s how I always thought the song went.
