The Los Angeles Times Book Prize nominees were announced yesterday in Manhattan–where the culture is. (Wink!) Amongst the other finalists in the fiction category was our very favorite book The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao.

The winner will be announced April 25 at an undisclosed location somewhere near Prince Williams next deployment. Oh, okay. It’s going to be at UCLA’s Royce Hall as part of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The rest of the fiction nominees follow after the jump as well as a video of the greatest literary acceptance speech in the history of the world. Take notes, Junot.

Oscar Wao is the only book on this list I’ve read. So I will also root for it.

Wish I was going to be at the festival of books!
