Not content to let only allow Okie girls the opportunity to strut up and down a stage under the premise of celebrating inner beauty, girls in Minnesota are finally eligible to compete in Miss Latina pageants:

“I am very interested in promoting the Latina women to stay in school and continue their education,” said Stellick. “Young women need to feel like they are equal. They are just as intelligent. There’s a lot of beauty that’s not outside beauty — it is beauty within. I want the girls to feel proud of what they have accomplished so far and keep pursuing other things.”

Those eligible to participate must have origin by birth or ancestry to a Hispanic or Latino country, must be a resident of the state for at least six months and must be employed or attending school full-time.
Young women ages 13 to 17 are eligible to compete in the Miss Teen Minnesota Latina Beauty Pageant; those ages 18 to 26 can compete in the Miss Minnesota Latina Beauty Pageant.

Ooo girl, adjust that bedazzled rhinestone bra top! Your talent is showing.
