<description>First, thanks, for the link, guanabees.

@aydiosmio: c'mon, don't you know that intra-ethnic group animosity is what makes the world go 'round? Let's see, a Tejana, a BosRican and a cubaniche are your Guanabee-ers, so what do you expect?

Also, it's easy to jump on the Dominicans because they're pretty much the largest, and ascendant, Latino group in the city, with all the boricuas moving to Orlando (that we're fighting for a teeny slice of guava empanada is another subject altogether). Wait until the poblanos take over, we'll be making fun of them.

Me, I can't figure out the passive-aggressive Junot Diaz mentions (we're kinda proud, but we don't entirely like or understand the book).

<description>This seems nice enough, but i never fail to notice how every single mention of anything Dominican is always uniformly derogatory and mocking, and not in a good way. The disgusting "Dominican Thug" video on Dominican independence day, the wholesale dismissal of Dominicans in the Fuckability index (ok I know this is silly...but still, come on), etc, it's all negative and dismissive. Always. It's getting really annoying, specially since you guys are in NY, and Dominicans seem to be specially reviled in NY. Why all the animosity? I mean, is it really OK to completely dismiss an entire demographic so casually, and so often? Come on...it's getting pretty offensive.
