Brown People In Washington DC Love Them Some Pope Benedict

Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Washington DC is being hotly anticipated by the area’s large Roman Catholic Latino population. Bitches think the Pope is dope, but they’re feeling isolated and persecuted within their own community:
It is a vibrant and fast-growing segment of the regional church whose members overflow Spanish-language Masses and high-energy revival shows but who often say they feel socially isolated and harassed under local and national laws.
For sure. We’re vibrating all the damn time.
Their hopes for the visit of El Papa widely echo those expressed by Lilian Castillo, a housecleaner from El Salvador and mother of three who is a regular worshiper at St. Camillus Church in Silver Spring, Md.
“Our community is facing persecution and poverty. People are being deported, even members of our own church,” said Castillo, 46. “I hope the pope can be a bridge to bring together Americans of all ages and races and levels. He is coming to bless all of us, and I hope everyone will be listening.”
Our hearts go out to you! Luckily, the biggest challenge we had to face growing up Catholic in our Church was resisting the urge to roll our eyes during super charismatic acoustic guitar renditions of “On Eagle’s Wings.”

When are Brown Latinos going to come to their senses? The Catholic Church had a chance to select a pope from Latin America (or any other area outside of Europe), an area that is probably MUCH more religious than Europe and the States, but the church picked another European (Pope Benedict). Of course! Sometimes I think the Catholic Church benefits from keeping Latinos ignorant and poor.
So . . . to all the Brown Catholics, I say: STOP supporting a European institution that perpetuates ignorance and tolerates pedophilia. STOP believing in supernatural crap. Instead, become familiar with the writings of Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins. Denounce the Catholic Church!
