David Archuleta Is A Total Nerd At His High School
18 March 2008, 3:30 PM. By Daniel Mauser
As with every boy we’ve ever liked, we’re totally stalking David Archuleta so we can find out everything about him and casually mention we’re really into whatever interests him next time we see him. Through his bedroom window. And, guess what? Archewableta is totally a shy, awkward, giggling dork:
It was no secret that David Archuleta could sing - students and teachers had heard him belt out holiday carols during Spanish class and an opera aria at a school arts festival.
None of that was reason enough to believe the junior at Murray High School in Murray, Utah, would transform from a shy and impish 17-year-old to a fast-rising star on ” American Idol.”
“He giggles every time you confront him,” Archuleta’s 11th-grade English teacher Chantel Thackarey said. “I can’t believe how well he’s doing because he’s just so painfully shy.”
In related news, 1th grade English teacher Chantel Thackarey really hates “American Idol” contestant David Archuleta. What else can we use to make fun of Little Dirk Giggler?
Despite his obvious talents, Archuleta has kept a low profile on the Murray High campus. An A student with a quiet demeanor, he wasn’t among the school’s most popular kids, nor the star of school plays.
“I didn’t see it coming,” said Murray High student body president Adam Ward, who witnessed Archuleta’s Spanish class serenade in 2006. “He’s this little guy, and he just belted that music out. It was amazing. He’s a notch above.”
See kids? Even the nerdiest, most musical-theater-inclined high school nerd can go on to become one of the most beloved, nerdiest musical-theater-inclined reality TV show contestants of all time.

Painfully shy, slighty effeminate, but incredibly talented boy singer? Sounds like the Michael Jackson story, but set to a Spanish last name.
He could play Rick Astley in the straight-to-DVD version of his sad, short life (oh…wait…it’s not over yet?). Watching Rick Astley sing was like watching Howdy Doody channeling Nat King Cole, while filtering out anything that made either of them bearable.
jaja i thought i was the only one stalking my crushes…
this dude is really cute.
is he straight?
doesnt matter though
im 2 years his junior
[although i'm a sophmore]

Misspelled something….
“In related news, 1th grade English teacher Chantel Thackarey…”
You kinda forgot the other 1 in 11.
I just don´t get it. I think this kid has achieved so much. It doesn´t matter if he has his issues, everybody does. The difference is that many times, as these “POPULAR PEOPLE” do, this issues are hiden in a closet. David is Talented, no doubt about is. Who cares if he is shy or not at school? Come on, you should come with something better than that! HE IS TALENTED, AND YES, HE IS CUTE ALSO. DEAL WITH THAT!
hi.
I didn’t know he was smart. I mean… he is this singer whom you wouldn’t really expect smart because adults (mostly parents) criticize him. Saynig that he’s a bod role model towards teenagers. Bad adults! Criticize the jonas brothers and miley instead! They’re bad models!!
I think shy boys are kinda cute
I like shy, smart, and talented boys
