“Desperate Housewives’ ” creator, Marc Cherry is reportedly interested in turning his show into a musical. According to Kyle McLachlan, who plays Marcia Cross’ character’s husband on the show:
“I think it is a great idea. It makes sense.
“Marc has said that when he finishes his seven years at ABC he plans to go to Broadway and move into the musical world so maybe he does have some designs in that way. That’s all he’s said so far.”
We wonder who they’ll get to play Eva’s character, Gabrielle…
We’re thinking this little known actress would do the trick. So to speak. As for Bree, we’d suggest former actress and current shopper Lindsay Lohan. She’s got a lot of free time lately. For Susan, a broom in a pretty wig. Lynette can be played by Edie Falco, since we get her and Felicity Huffman mixed up all the time anyway. And in the role of resident harlot, Edie, well. Luciana Salazar is a pretty versatile actress, no?
Who do you think should play ye olde desperate housewives in a musical?
‘Desperate Housewives’ : The Muscical [Hollywood Rag]

I have always thought that “Desperate Housewives” was what happened to the ladies from Sex And The City after they moved out of NYC. So…
Kim Cattrall (Samantha) can play Edie, the tramp. Kristin Davis (Charlotte) would play the perfect Bree. Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) is a natural choice for working mom Lynette. Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) could play Susan because the “broom in a pretty wig” sort of applies for her, too.
Of course, that does leave out Gabrielle. But that can only go to triple-threat-of-mediocrity JLo, natch.
