Tejano star Emilio Navaira is just now regaining consciousness after his tour bus crashed, leaving him in need of two surgeries on his brain. Navaira opened his eyes and moved his arms last night, according to a statement by the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

And because, thanks to Cindy’s initial posts on Navaira, we’re just now starting to become conscious (wink!) of who Navaira is, we’d like to make sure all of you are also up to speed.

Did you know…

He’s actually Emilio Navaira the Third? It’s true! We wouldn’t lie about that!

He’s collaborated with major brands like Coca-Cola and Wrangler? U! S! A! And that Miller Light persuaded him to name one of his albums “Life is good” after their slogan?

He sings both in English and Spanish, country and Tejano. We don’t listen to any of those!

So there you go. We could have probably named one of his songs or something but, come on. He’s no David Archuleta.

Are you serious? You really don’t know who Emilio Navaira is? You’re just another self indulgent latino hack that pretends to speak for the true children of Aztlan. You sure know a lot about Dominicans though… Wait, oh. That explains a lot.

@ Luke’s Pa: It’s cute how you think all Latinos are interested in what you happen to care about. What’s this word I’m trying to think of…? While I listen to my STEREO and TYPE… Hmmm. Gosh, it’s on the tip of my tongue…

Calm down Darth. Tejano music just isn’t something that everyone is into…especially if they can speak proper spanish. And that whole “true children of Aztlan” is a little dramatic, dontcha think? Sounds like something that would be displayed across the back windshield of a lowrider or something.

i’m a true Latina. I have never heard ot this Emilio guy. And the only dominican i know is the woman who married my uncle. darth raider, is a little retarded in thinking that because of this i’m a “self indulgent latino hack”. darth raider is a fool.

@Darth Raider: I have no idea who Emilio Navaira is either…is that a crime? Jeesh…Tejano is mostly a Southwestern USA/Mexican thing, Alex and BosRican are neither from Texas nor Mexican, so it’s very unlikely that they would be Tejano music connoseurs…

God when did the accident of this tejano singer become such an issue to dominicans, texans, and mexicans. Who cares if some of you don’t know who he is there is no need to post unnecessary comments about the tejano star. For instance I don’t know who this “”" Archuleta”"” individual is and quite frankly dont care either but I dont see his life in jeopardy and if I did I wouldn’t go on saying that not everyone one knows him and what he is all about is not important. Truth of the matter is saying someones life like his is not important is pretty pathetic! I only found this link becuase yes I was looking for updates on Emilio but don’t feel the need to chismiar and talk crap about anyone, I do have a life and found the link again to get an update an came across this boggus information>>> NOW moving on….

Damn, I better save my pesos or get a job with a better medical insurance. This would’ve happened to me, I’d be dead by now. I wonder how much all this is costing his family. By the way, I don’t follow Tex Mex or listen to it, and I’ve heard of this guy and seen his CD’s somewhere a couple of times.

It’s not about being a fan or listening to Tejano music. It’s about having a website like this and pretending to be a latino voice for all of us. All I’m saying is before you “report” on anything, take a moment to do a little research. Be as funny as you want…just don’t be stupid. A little less time watching that Platano con Salami video might do you some good.

@An Emilio fan: You don’t know who David Archuleta is? Do you live under a rock?

@Darth: I have no idea who Emilio is either, but I will say this: I LURVE me some Selena. Honestly, I wasn’t into her music before that nasty woman (what’s her name?) took Selena’s life. That (fat and ugly) bastard. If Emilio is as GREAT as Selena, I’ll consider listening to his music and finding out more about him. But, let’s be honest: Most Tejano music SUCKS and it all sounds the same. Some of your brethren are brining it to Florida, and that has to stop. Please! I’m asking nicely here. But you are right about one thing: Guanabee (with the exception of Alex) can be very stupid (and not in a good way).

    I am a latina.

Whenever I read about someone that had an accident or something of that nature, if I have never heard of them, I still say a prayer that everything turns out okay. I even do that when an ambulance passes me by. I don’t care if I know who it is or if I have ever heard of them. They are human beings.

    Enough said.

My prayers are with Emilio’s family. Hope God takes care of him and bring him back to sing the beautiful songs that entertains us.
