If you’re daring to show your face in downtown Austin this week, you must be a) from out of town and b) dying to shake your nether regions to the hip Argentinean DJ show on everyone’s lips this spring: Zizek. They’ll be performing a SXSW showcase at Ninety Proof Lounge tonight at 8:00 which means good luck getting in without a wristband and, in many cases, even with one. Not adventurous enough to fight the hoardes in Texas? Zizek will also be shaking the genital regions of hip latin New Yorkers and their hangers-on at S.O.B.’s come Monday with the help of their friends Marcelo and Amy Lu from Nacotheque. Boo! I was getting all excited that it was going to be a presentation by Slavoj Zizek. I would have liked his interpretation of current Latin pop culture and identity in a borderless medium such as the internet while walls are being put up to keep the physical Latinos at bay.
Just me then?
