A nation stands in shock today after witnessing their idol—indeed America’s idol—David Archuleta fall far from his pedestal last night when the words to his chosen Beatles song, “We Can Work It Out” left his pretty little brain. David! Think of what you’re saying! In case you’re too slow to catch the goof, it’s at :15, by the way, as he’s descending the staircase. He also looks a little shaky around :54. Nice mumble/smile save, though. We’re still rooting for you, our chuleta.

My mom used to say, “Sí no te acuerdas, es que era mentira.” Maybe means that La Chuleta thinks we can’t work it out?

I can attest that all of Brownsville, Texas says that, too. And when I say it here (in NYC) people look at me like, “funny, little brown person.”

OK, Guanabee, let’s start a movement to obliterate all non-sensical/annoying Latina mom sayings…I mean, how does forgetting something mean that it was a lie? What if you forgot a question, or forgot where you put your keys, or forgot to pick up some groceries? Makes no sense, I tell you…Oh, I think this is a pan-Latin thing, coz none of my relatives are from Texas or Mexican…
