John McCain’s Pastor John Hagee Says, “ArmaGetItOn! And Am Totally Behind McCain.” (Not Literally. That Makes Jesus Weep.)

Turns out Barack Obama isn’t the only one with a pastor he can’t disown. The Catholic Church is upset that Senator John McCain has accepted the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, who has been quite outspoken about his anti-Catholic sentiment, going so far as to label the Church “The Great Whore.” Seven diamond?

Hagee is the founder of “Christians United For Israel” which calls for an expansion of Israeli territory, and, um. An expansion of HageeLand:

But CUFI [Christians United for Israel] has an ulterior agenda: its support for Israel derives from the belief of Hagee and his flock that Jesus will return to Jerusalem after the battle of Armageddon and cleanse the earth of evil. In the end, all the non-believers - Jews, Muslims, Hindus, mainline Christians, etc. - must convert or suffer the torture of eternal damnation. Over a dozen CUFI members eagerly revealed to me their excitement at the prospect of Armageddon occurring tomorrow. Among the rapture ready was Republican Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. None of this seemed to matter to Lieberman, who delivered a long sermon hailing Hagee as nothing less than a modern-day Moses. Lieberman went on to describe Hagee’s flock as “even greater than the multitude Moses commanded.”

Yes, but is Ben Affleck invited?

Hagee is absolutely certifiable. Someone pleez come out of the sky and rapture this mofo already. And take McCain’s other “spiritual succubus,” Pastor Rod “the Bod” Parsley, while you’re at it. (Don’t stop there. Please take the whole TBN/Daystar network roster and free up my Time-Warner digital cable for more Mexican stations.) Why McCain hasn’t been called to account for these nutjobs (and conmen of great skill, let’s face it) is beyond me. But it’s okay to go love the wackos if you’re Obi-Wan McCain (i.e., “our last GOP hope”). Hagee is the 2nd worst thing about Texas, and the absolute worst thing about San Antonio.

I’m so ashamed that Hagee is from San Antonio. It’s very ironic given that San Anto is such a Catholic (read: Chicano) city. His damn Church is near the house I grew up in an every time I go back home I wanna spit on the front lawn.

I have seen Hagee a couple of times at the places I work stuffing his face, either with the popcorn from the movie theater (reppin Northwoods 14!) or the potato salad from the bbq restaurant( reppin Rudy’s BBQ!). He has a nice shiny Mercedes and lives in the Dominion, which is infamous for being the richest, most lavish neighborhood right outside of SA. God’s favor is truly on him.

Yeah, but at least you guys don’t have to put up with these guys in your own family. My mom’s a CBN-aholic who’s been preaching the Rapture story to me since about the age of 11, when she got bored enough being a housewife to suddenly become really invested in the Baptist crap. Ugh. I just thank my lucky stars that she’s allright with the boyfriend being a non-practicing Catholic. Her only stipulation with our relationship is that if we do wind up getting married, that I not convert. Eh… I prefer to remain non-denominational anyway, because all the hardliners frighten and annoy me. Oh yeah, and those rapture southern Baptist types - they believe them being ungodly wealthy and enjoying Bush’s tax breaks is a sign of God’s favor in the way they are living their lives and tithing to the Church. Yeah. But don’t give any of that money to poor folks! They certainly couldn’t need it as much as the churchgoers need a new Mercedes…
