Just when we thought the Swedes had grown a sack, or at the very least, a sense of humor, they go and apologize to the Charlton Hestons of the world for their silly little ad reminiscing about the days before northern Mexico became Northern Mexico the American Southwest.
“In no way was it meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues,” Absolut said in a statement left on its consumer inquiry phone line.
Then it said, “For this apology in English, please press 2.”

I’m surprised they didn’t just slap a lime on the bottle and start advertising for it during the telenovelas.

I can’t believe they had to apologize for this ad…do companies apologize for the other million offensive ads out there? Seriously, immigration issues are getting worse and worse in this country…And Junot Diaz won the Pulitzer prize today!!!! hooray?

They were just speakin the truth. Except, I’d rather it be in a Pacifico (or really any kind of beer) world. Vodka = yucky.

ami, why u drinking Paul Mitchell’s marketing gimmick “Patron”? Back when it came out it was good, just like Cazadores 10-12 years ago, then it began to be mass produced y valio madre. Try these cheaper and better versions ($35-$50), El Tesoro, Espolon, Oro Azul, Don Julio, Don Eduardo. And even cheaper ($15-$30) are Centenario( I like silver) and Mexico’s favorite El Jimador. The first tequilas are good alone, the cheaper ones are good with mixers(margarita) or chased with a caballito de Sangrita Viuda de Sanchez. Just don’t try them all at once. The secret here is consistency and loyalty to agave growers from Tequila, Jalisco. There’s a bunch of black market agave growers in Mexico, and a lot of big name Tequila brands buy from these fools to cut costs for them, giving you, the consumer an inferior product.
Absolut, fajense los huevos and say “SI CABRONES, we want all you illegals to drink our shit, spend your money on our shit, all this and making fun of pinches gabo’s immigration policies Y CHINGUE SU MADRE AL QUE NO LE GUSTE”
