Navaira.3.26.08.jpg Here's some long-awaited good news about Tejano superstar Emilio Navaira who suffered massive brain injuries due to a bus accident that occurred outside Houston Easter weekend. The Houston Chronicle reports that his condition has been upgraded to fair after having been in critical condition since March 23rd. Memorial Hermann, Navaira's hospital in Houston, still lists the singer's condition as critical as of a Monday posting, but the Chronicle reports a press conference is scheduled for Friday where his doctors and wife Maria will address the public. A message from the Navaira family on the hospital website thanks fans for their support:
We are deeply humbled by the unwavering support you have given our family. God has blessed our family in many ways throughout our lives and in each passing day I know he is listening to all of our prayers. We know that your prayers and well wishes are also helping. Emilio has looked into our eyes; he has held our hands as we have held his. Thank you again and we hope to share good news with you soon.
Update To The Update: Memorial Hermann has now posted the official upgrade on their website:
