Ok, Cindy, we all know that you’re smarter than the average Latino. Good for you. Your family must be so proud (particularly your, um, less than impressive uncle who happens to be a senator).

Anyhoo, has it ever occurred to you that the problem may not be your (dense) Latino readers? ’cause I’m willing to bet that MOST of your (educated) readers actually can detect (and appreciate) irony. Has it occurred to you that Guanabee may be the problem? This blog is all over the place. Some of your posts are funny and your readers “get” what you’re trying to say. But sometimes your posts are very serious. And then at other times, you try to use irony as a humorous device to present material of interest to Hispanics–but you fail miserably. If what you’re writing doesn’t deviate from reality, then it’s NOT irony.
