Jennifer Lopez Names Tom Cruise The Godfather Of Her Precious Little Thetans
Jennifer Lopez has named Tom Cruise the godfather of her twins, Max and Emme, even though she is Catholic and he is crazy:
A source said: “Tom is delighted. Marc wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids’ godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree.”
Tom — who has a 2-year-old daughter, Suri, with wife Katie Holmes — has already showered the twins with gifts.
The actor reportedly spent around $200,000 on designer christening outfits for Max and Emme, ordered a giant fish tank for their nursery and gave them complete Disney DVD box sets.
Nothing makes an infant so happy as gallons of water and sharp rocks encased in fragile panes of glass.
It has also been claimed Tom and Katie planned to host a star-studded $200,000 ‘Welcome to the World’ themed-party for the fraternal twins.
Technically, it was to be a star-studded, $200,000 “Welcome to the World, Humans!” party, but that made everyone a little nervous and there were only so many Swarovski crystals available to spell out the party theme.
Now, correct us if we’re wrong, but isn’t the entire purpose of a godparent, in Catholicism anyway, to guide their godchild spiritually and teach them about Christ and such? We don’t remember our godparents ever trying to get us to take a free stress test in the subway.

I am all too familiar with the Catholic church’s Canon 872 - 874 which are very strict rules about who you can choose for a godparent in order for it to be recognized. I call bullshit, JLo!
Tom Cruise may be the godfather, but I don’t see how it could be a Catholic baptism.

There are many practicing Catholics in the industry who would make excellent (and not ostentateous) godparents. Even the Guvenator comes to mind. Jim Caviezel is also a good Catholic. Surely Robert Novak or Bill O’Reilly could even fly to the Left Coast to ensure right is done by JLo’s babies!
Tom Cruise cannot even be a Christian witness to this baptism; neither can his wife. The priest allowing this needs to be checked, but considering Cardinal Mahoney’s previous lack of fortitude in ssuch matters, that hardly seems possible.

Tom is NOT qualified to be a God-Parent at a Catholic baptism, though he could be a STAND IN. Katie is still, at least officially, Catholic I think.

I believe The catholic church recognizes other faiths baptisms if done in the name of Father, Son & holy spirit…..
Except for the Mormons since they have their own interpertation of the trinity that is unlike most mainstream christians.

Shame Shame Shame on JLo - Tom Cruise isnt even a Christian let alone a Catholic. He can be and practice whatever he wants but the reason for a godparent is to raise your child Catholic/Christian should something happen to the parents - Not because someone bought you the best baby gift or threw you a party. JLO and Marc Anthony make me sick. If I said more myself I wouldnt be acting like a good Christian myself.
